what sick twat was in charge of level design, lol

This was the boss that forced me to stop playing the game for a while. Also an enemy almost fell on top of you right before it.

nobody should feel bad if they think this game is hard..... i had r- type 3 for the gba and man did it put me in quite a pickle
-
damn, that boss looks well hard to defeat. Not only do you have to concentrate on its firing weopons, you have to pay attention to the moving obstacles too. O_o Me myself, I couldn't get past stage 3

You did well to survive that tunnel right to the end without crashing, if you send your force out against the boss he goes down much faster, in only a few seconds in fact!

good shit!! some parts made me think you would die, but then you zipped past a block or a bullet....i remember this level on super r type on snes, but never played the arcade r-type II.....nice

I don't even blink when i'm facing this boss.
Nice gameplay!!

Don't you have a Wii? You can get it on the VC. That game is fucking brutal towards the end in the final stage. RTIII is another game that be hard to track down, I don't know how much it is on Ebay, but just be careful on the price. I got Super R-Type on the SNES, and it kicks ass.
I never got past this stage. It's as cool as hard, especially towards the end, you must have incredible reflexes. I never got to see level 5, until I saw your videos.

Incidentally I could never beat stage 5 until R-Type Dimensions came out and they toned down the difficulty. Now it's a lot easier.

Well, I'll consider it. I'd have to buy a copy first. When I try to record from my computer I can't make it work right (FRAPs I can't get to work and I can't get sound on Hypercam even though I have the full version, and it makes my computer get choppy anyway). I still have a SNES, so I might one day.
