Its all about how we desire God but our flesh is so insistent on obtaining the lust of this world. in the last few lines he begs Christ to take his heart so that he himself is not foolish with it. A very powerful testimony put to music

The author of this song was raised in a Godly home. When he became a teenager he strayed so far from his upbringing. While out with buddies one night they wandered into a revival. That night as the preacher spoke our young author felt that each word was directed at him. He came to know the Lord for himself that night and went on to write this song
