Check out this great 3d model from Nvidia. Now can also those who don't have a Nvidia 8800 card check this out too.:-) It's recommanded that you have a 8800 GTX Ultra to install and view this "demo" but it works just fine on my 8800 GTX card..this "demo" works fine on 3360*1050 resolution on my Dual Display

  • This is a demo of geforce 8800 ultra video card, that uses openGL 2.5, NOT directx 10.0, and is so cool

  • @njra123 Never said it was DirectX 10.

  • Real life equaled by technology .. it is amazing. I woder in what application it was rendered

  • Send a email to nvidia and ask. :-)

  • the furure of zbrush, this might be bad for the future as we dont need actors anymore

  • Think how much the film companies could save from overpayed actors :-) hehe

  • @edgeofsins Don't think it would take long, good 2-4 weeks to construct the face, and some high res skin textures. but that's some one that knows what he/she is doing, I'm starting to learn how to model a face and texture it at the moment. but it's going take months maybe a year or so to learn to get anything to this result.

  • @FadeToBlack181 That's true, but it is possible to get a similar effect with realtime normal maps. It would just have to be a really high quality map. I think the biggest thing that makes games look game-y is the lighting.

  • Anyone know how to make a 3D face this detailed and how long it takes for one person?

  • does anybody know what music this is? Is it an artist or their own music? peace

  • This is pretty amazing but keep in mind that with today's technology this is impossible unless you're making a game about spinning a camera around a floating head. The poly count on the head must equal that of an entire game enviroment, so these graphics are achieveable but the entire processing power of the GPU works on that head and that head alone, even the background is a static image in this demo.

  • Very Cool

  • Were close to realtime guys!

  • @Scortech

they already do it by creating dummys for the background of their movies in 3D

but an 3D artist with autodesk or zbrush will never replace an actor and his full emotional expressions on screen :)

  • just awesome !
