District II Video to Air Across America!!!
A patient education video, produced by ACOG District II, is scheduled to air in hospitals across America on the Newborn Channel. The piece addresses the prevention of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) .
This piece is part of an ACOG District II public awareness and education campaign on FASD prevention, targeting women of childbearing age, about the dangers of alcohol use during pregnancy. Other campaign components include a FASD prevention handbook entitled "Pregnant? Think! Don't Drink!" -- and a public service announcement that recently aired on radio stations across New York State.
The FASD patient education video was made possible through funding from the New York State Developmental Disabilities Planning Council. It is scheduled to begin airing on the Newborn Channel in late September, 2010. The Newborn Channel is watched in more than 1,000 hospitals across America -- including nearly 80 hospitals in New York State and reaches more than 2.5 million new mothers every year. For more information on FASD prevention and the FASD campaign, please visit --the FASD section of the ACOG District II website at www.acogny.org.
