And btw, it's not a requirement that they will always takeoff with flaps at least 10. Takeoff's are performed with flaps 5 and 15 also. It all depends on runway length, airport elevation, aircraft weight...
It's probably not same on all Airbus, but for A320, i think it is: Flaps 1 is only slats 18 degrees, Flaps 1+F - slats 18/flaps 15, Flaps 2 - slats 22/flaps 20, Flaps 3 - slats 22/flaps 26 and Flaps FULL - slats 27/flaps 35.
