Manipulation is ancient but NLP isn't, it's between 35 - 40 years old. NLP is collection of psychology, hypnosis and behavioural observation to create change in peoples lives. Sadly it has been used on many occasion to inflict mass brainwashing on a global societal level, sometimes for good but and sometimes for great horror. No one understands indoctrination better than a master of NLP. It's like a gun, the gun itself is not dangerous until the criminal picks it up. Your government uses NLP!

NLP is very powerful, Its can be used to manipulate you, its very similar to the concept of the movie "Inception" the best way to manipulate someone is to make that person believe their ideas are theirs. NLP uses every method, Words, Sounds, rhythm, gestures, Images, and most importantly key words used inthe right way at the right time. Salesmen use it, Successful politicians, and News outlets, in particular Fox News uses it constantly. please pick up a book on NLP learn to defend yourself.

I find the bit about psytrance to be especially interesting, because quite frankly, it drives me apeshit and 9 times out of 10 I'll change whatever program is playing it (e.g. celebrity gossip shows like Entertainment Tonight use it, and I do think they manage to succeed in brainwashing a lot of viewers into buying whatever BS they are selling - fame [for fame's sake] & money equating "wealth", for example, which extends to mass-consumerism in fashion trends, technological acquisitions, etc.)

@DoctorSess I agree, NLP should not be used without others knowledge however everybody manipulates people. When I leave the room my puppy cries, the cry is because he knows already that I'll feel bad and want to return to attend to him. You have a government? We're all brainwashed and manipulated everyday.
