Tommy Emmanuel is the GREATEST fingerstyle guitar player, IMO, truly a treasure to the Whole World. Thank you, Hal! my good friend, for telling me about him and convincing me to go to see him perform back in February, 2005. This is a "thank you" video I made for Hal, from photos I took of that show. Stoked, Hal then showed this video to the venue's promoter, and the venue's owner who all liked this video and had me make it a promo for an upcoming TE concert in July, 2005. Tommy himself told me he liked this video, when I met him again at that show.

This video shows a little of many of the things I saw in concert that night. I'll never forget it--he just blew my mind that night. He is an original, a maestro. Tommy is one of only a very select few that Mr. Guitar, the late great Chet Atkins, lovingly certified as, "c.g.p.", which Tommy often adds to his name in an autograph. BTW, "c.g.p." stands for "certified guitar player".

Tommy Emmanel is a Phenomenal Musician and entertainer, who has an incredibly charismatic stage presence, and as near ego-less personality as anyone I've ever met in my life. WOW!! He absolutely loves what he does on stage, loves and appreciates his fans who come out to see him play. No matter where I've sat and watched him play I felt he was playing just to me, do you know what I'm trying to say here? He tours all around the world, and often times in concert he imparts memorable, inspiring words in story, song or just spoken straight from his heart that adds a special touch/vibe to the whole show! For example, one of the things he told an audience between songs that I'll never forget was (I'll paraphrase):
"I recognise that I was given a gift to play music at a high level. And it is a honor to be able to make a living as a musician, selling my records/touring all over the world. But it is my responsibility to not take this God given gift for granted, and to keep working long and diligently at it in order to keep honing these skills to get better and better every year." Humble.

If you have not had the extreme pleasure of seeing him perform yet, YOU MUST SEE HIM PLAY, don't miss out, you will thank me for it later, I guarantee it.

  • The Maton guitar's name is a derivative of "May" and "Tone"--Bill May founded the Australian Guitar Company about 60 years ago. The late Beatle, George Harrison, also played Maton guitars back in the early 1960's. A great interview about Tommy Emmanuel's ongoing involvement with Maton(he was age 5 when he got his first Maton) is here: --replace (dot) with "." & "3w's" with appropriate notation --3w's(dot)maton(dot)com(dot)au/interviews/tommy-emmanuel(dot)html

  • near the end of the url I just posted there's supposed to be no space between the hyphen and "emmanuel" in the url I tried to post just now. Youtube makes posting urls tough. It should be typed in as tommy hyphen emmanuel, not tommy hyphen space emmanuel...type in: "tommy-emmanuel", not "tommy- emmanuel". Its worth the effort!

  • @md75yt38 Is that the best you can do ? your insults are the equivalent of a five year old banging away on a banjo - but I guess that's where you're at poor little fanatic - I don't worship your hero - so I'm crazy ? ...typical FANatic behaviour - ye who worship false guitar gods...........you make me laugh...so thanks for the chuckle.. kid

  • @ryreinhardt What in hell is wrong with you? I think newnoggin2 is right, there are serious mental issues you should address. What a small pathetic person you are. Get help.

  • @newnoggin2 Thanks for your interest - you obviously care deeply what I think 'cause you know I'm right - trouble is though - I don't care what you think.

I don't respect cheerleaders for Tommy or anyone else

  • @koduckman Like Segovia could do this. You haven't a clue.

  • @ryreinhardt Please get some help for what is some kind of jealous inferiority problem. If you let it go much longer you could have life long problems or hurt yourself or others.
