Have you some more information about the Vivaldi's relation with the folk?

Come forse saprai gia', Maute ha scritto pezzi in stile barocco (come me ed altri... :-)

This piece kicks ass!

Amazing masterpiece!!!

@666Battor vivaldi didn't write the praambulum, one of the flutists did. the concerto itself is in c mj but in gypsy spirit, they added an "improvised" prelude.

god damn it! why did vivaldi switched from minor to damn major on 1:11 -.-,it could be something stratospheric just if he continued to like he started, but no....major fucked up everything...blah....love the minor beginning,it's jsut epicccc

The Uhrovska collection is not a publication, it is a manuscript of Slavic dance tunes - it's name comes from the fact that it is held in a library in Ugoric. I would say that if they are aiming to make it sound more folky, they are not trying hard enough.

How interesting (the result + explanation). I know The Four seasons were recorded on a quite surpring version but I can't find it. Can someone help me ? It is a record with someone whistling an instrumental part.
oh yea! loving baroque! the great beginning though sounds very different.

Check out the description, it provides some enlightenment on the bizarre "praambulum" the ensemble wrote for this piece.

ah you had it hiding under more info i get it ....ok i'm newbie to computers too. Yes i used to live under a rock! i'm old enough not to 'get' computers....anyhow ha! how about that i picked up on something...don't you think when you really start listening to classical music you start to develop an 'ear' for it... I used to say i hated jazz i didn't understand it, cos i hadn't given it a fair shot an persisted long enough with concentration.

You definetly develop an ear. Just listen and listen and eventually you will be able to pick out what is good and what isn't. Of course, there are also peoples individual preferences, but there is still such a thing as a bad performance.

This is absolutely terrific! Where do you find these gems? Such rhythmic drive and life force.
Thank you.

This recording I actually got for free from my local classical music store for being such a loyal customer! It's a Canadian ensemble actually, and for some reason, Canada's baroque orchestras/ensembles are really really good!
