This video shows the 50 foot Rohm 25G tower with the dual WindMax turbines attached. The cables are not yet secured and we still needed to weld the pipes to make a rigid mount, it shows the guy wires, the anchor points and the lifting method Next video will show the welding and final assembly.

  • I did watch your other videos and I cold see there was not enough guy wires to hold the set-up that you were engineering to use, water pipe is not engineered to withstand the constant flexing that the wind generators will put on the tower.

    I have a tower with 4 wind generators on the top of it and the pipe that I used was well drillers steel with a spread of ten feet and 50 ft. tall I have had no troubles with the tower for two years now.....

    A) I never had a pipe tower with two turbines

    B) The video you mentioned used a schedule 40 galvanize pipe and stood for 1 year enduring two hurricanes and winds of 75 mph, it held fast and never gave me lick of problem

    C)The tower that fell was Rohm 25G tower which buckled in the middle due to twisting of the turbines being out on arms. The guy wires held fast.

    D) I'd love to see you post a video of your four turbine tower, maybe you can teach us all how to do it right

  • looks like you have a nice set up. The only improvement that I could see that you need is to have one of the wind generators above the other so when the wind is blowing across the one and then on to the other, you will not have one working and the other getting second hand wind and working with less out put. Nice video thanks.

  • @GLEEPERS66 Been there, did that, you can watch other videos where that was done. It put too much of an uneven force on the tower and it eventually collapsed. The only way to do this right is to have one turbine per tower.

  • Yes, larger diameter = more power, however it also equals lower rotational speed. So they are a balance of power vs. speed. If ever want to convert back to 12 volt I will definetely think about larger diameter blades since a lower rotational speed I begin getting more resitance due to more amperage draw from 12 vs. 24 vols. Larger blades would help there, problem is find blades that will fit that hub. I'm very happy with them as they are though.

  • I bought it from a local guy and bought a couple of pieces from eBay. Do a search in your area for tower maintenance and you should find someone that can get those for you. If you can't find anyone local go to eBay and look up a seller by the name of oldtowerguy as he sells everything you need as well. Take care and God bless you.
