Especially sharepoint is most popular idea for schools but no guidance whihc suits to us. Thats why school Its staying away from it but always everyione keep asking eachother how we can achieve it. We know its perfect thing to have because we've seen a couple of rich school's sharepoint portals but they are not willing to help as they have dedicated IT staff for only that purpose.So what we need, for the beginnig at least reliable implementation possibly with a cluster.

Since I am working in the school, Im interesting with sharepoint for school environments. For schools basoluteley no resource and I have many collages who after these kind of things. I strongly believe if you would create something for the schools, many of them will get benefit and IT Admins will start releasing your channel in their environment. As school ITs we do have private environment managed by department of education and we sharing resources, links news in there.
