Today I went downstairs and saw our little Roomba vacuum on top of our pool table doing its thing. I quickly asked my wife, and she said she thought it would be a good way to clean the pool table. She was right, but as I watched, I wondered if it could play billiards as well as it could clean?

An opportunity for some fun! I racked 'em up and set it to go while I filmed it. The video you are looking at here is the real deal. While there are many cuts to shorten it from 20 minutes to about 5 minutes, it was all done in one run. I'll admit that I helped the little Roomba in a few moments of desperation, but I made sure that every time I helped it, I showed it in the final cut of the video.

So while you are thinking to yourself that I clearly have too much time on my hands... I don't! I just couldn't resist. Who can blame me?

  • I thought for sure that the way the roomba worked, having pushed all the balls to the edges, that it would eventually get them all in the holes. It was a surprise to see that it left one on.

Still the most fun to watch video I've seen on You Tube in a long time.

  • I had to help it 3 times, and I showed those times in the video. When the balls get right up to the pocket, the roomba can't get to it, so if they have no momentum when getting to the pocket, they will sit there unless the roomba happens to push another ball toward it to knock it in. Still, it was so fun to do!

  • i saw someone pulled a string but this is good for cleaning the pool table

  • Nope... no strings were pulled. The only time I 'assisted', I made sure it was shown in the edited down video.

  • I use my Roomba to clean my pool table, in fact I am right as I type this. (Which is what got me to thinking about searching for roomba and pool table.. lol). I've not run it with the balls on the table, though! Does a good job of getting the lint and dust off the table.

  • it may damage the surface if use for long-term right?

  • lol

  • lol

  • Cool.
