The beauty and fragility of our world is shown through some pics of the Crimean Mountains put together with one of the most beautiful songs ever - To Turn the Stone performed by Frida.

Only after having put all things together I realized how well the nature sounds actually fit to this song... So I left everything untouched - the crackling of the camp fire, the rumble of the mountain stream, the wash of the waves... All photos and filming in this vid are made by me during my trips to Crimea in 2006-2008.

I understand that to an average ABBA fan the video sequence may seem a bit dull - no Frida and Agnetha pics and even the song isn't ABBA - but, please, try to understand me: I love these rocks and bushes with all my heart and I tried my best to make a worthy tribute to this wonder we call the Crimean Peninsula.

  • These photos were beautiful! I had to play the video a couple times to catch what I missed the first time, while I Googled this place to see where it was. I couldn't have picked a better song myself to pair this video with. Great job! Beautiful video, and a beautiful song by a beautiful lady!

  • Thanks a lot, Sharon! I'm happy to see I'm not the only one to love the song and the place :)

  • Quite breathtaking and thanks for sending it to me....you obviously recognised that i am not the average Abba fan how discerning of you!!!LOLOL

  • I'm happy you like it :)

As for "average fans" stuff, well, I just tried to prevent some people's comments saying that this vid is purposeless (I got some of these for my previous vid with the cat).

  • Very nice Kate. This looks like a peaceful place to be able to get away and just exist! And done to one of my favorite Frida songs also. How does that little black kitty feel about moving down a notch from first to second? Again, great job Kate, I wish some of mine were this clear.

  • Thank you, Jim :) The Crimea is one of the places where I recharge my batteries every once in a while. My favorite one, to boot :)

The big blackie is okay ;) In fact, he doesn't care being second or even hundredth as long as he has his sparv for breakfast, lol

  • What a beautiful song and video. Thank you.

  • This song was written by Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte, and recorded by Donna Summer in 1981 for her double album I'M A RAINBOW, which Geffen Records rejected. RAINBOW later got a short-lived cd release by Polygram in 1996.

  • Very nice.
