  • collest cat among all jazz vocalists :D

  • I am so glad I kept my audio notes. I heard this on radio driving to work. I've been looking for you Mr. Murphy..........thank you for the music! Love your voice!

  • I just found this version on CD...wow, i'm over the moon with pleasure! Fantastic CD throughout and what i love also are the liner notes. There's a place where the writer says " Can you remember what was in the charts last year?" ..or even last month? Most kids today don't even care as they're riding the wave of hype.

He's just showing how music like THIS is timeless.

  • This is the definitive version for me. Mark Murphy floats on a mystical cloud, as always.

  • @MsTexas73 never heard this version before, thanks Ms Texas, i'm sure Freddie Hubbard would give this one a big thumbs up. 5 ****... Randy Brecker has a very Hubbardesque solo also!

  • This version is right on! Love it!

  • BRILLIANT....best version next to Maestro Freddie's.

  • I saw him sing this back in the 70s in NYC at the Beacon Theater!

He also sang another one of my favorites called "Stolen Moments!"

    What a treat that was!

Thanks for sharing PsychCutioner! You're the best!

  • Oh, my bad! I meant to say "I never heard of MARK Murphy." (lol)

  • On the way to work this morning, I heard this on my local college jazz station, which plays an eclectic mix of traditional & contemporary jazz. I made sure I listened for the name of the song & artist, wrote it down on a post-it note once at work & was hopeful it had been posted here on YT, which I looked up once I got home. Never heard of Michael Murphy but I really like the vibe of this song. And, who can go wrong when David Sanborn & the Brecker brothers got your back? They're the best! :-)
