@meesteropera ZUCKER IS NOT A WEIRDO AT ALL . HE HAD HOSTED A RADIO SHOW CALLED OPERA FANATIC WHICH I HAD LISTENED TO MANY TIMES . I THINK THE HIGH LIGHT OF THE SHOW WAS THE TENOR CONTEST BETWEEN CORELLI, DESTEFANO TUCKER & DEL MONACO WHICH HE DID A WONDERFUL JOB GATHERING INFORMATION ABOUT THE 4 SINGERS AND TAKING CALLERS VOTES & OPINIONS OVER THE PHONE . Is Zucker a natural Castrato? Why has he interviewed so many great opera stars, is he a critic? (god I hope not) I heard him singing "Ah mes amis" and it was truly awful. I'm not being nasty I'm just saying what I heard. I think perhaps he really is a male version of Florence Foster Jenkins.

I am almost sure that the problem this guy has is called puberphonia, excessive tension on the muscles of the larynx results in a high larynx position which produces that female sound. This can be corrected with vocal training... ironic, ha?

I tend to agree with you. When he speaks in English his voice goes down... when he does it in Italian sounds unnaturally high
