An uncut video showing the disruption caused by a simple repaving project that will last nearly two years. I have made this video and sent it to the local council, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, who run the executive function for the Exhibition Road Project. I have been trying to meet with them for six weeks now to discuss some solutions, and on all occasions they have managed to avoid a get-together. I take you on a walk and a cycle ride along the length of Exhibition Road eleven months into the project. There is some interesting "Health and Safety" stuff in there, particularly when attempting to cross the road where there is no pedestrian crossing. Supposedly "phased", the entire 1/2 mile length of the road is now under construction from South Ken station to Hyde Park. This has already been going on since January 2010. No phase is yet finished, despite five of the 19 phases being due for completion before July 2010. Two further phases due for completion in October are also as yet unfinished. This video was taken 16 November 2010. There are 25,000 visitors to the area every day not to mention the local businesses and residents who are suffering from the fallout of this disasterously disruptive and overrunning project.
