@dnjljjess dessie would have had far, far too much class & speed for darling Rummy...would have given him stones & a beating around Kempton & any other track, especially right handed.
However, at Aintree Rummy was king.

not sure how you can compare them, tbh. Two very different kinds of horses. Both all time greats. why does one have to be "better" than the other?

Round Aintree perhaps, but Desert Orchid was vastly superior otherwise. Red Rum, for instance, wouldn't have won a Gold Cup nor 4 King Georges.

Did you know Dessie was nearly put down in his first ever race as a 5 year old at Kempton in a novice hurdle..he fell at the last and was down for 15 minutes...they were about to put him down and he jumped up...incredible dont you reckon...the rest is history!!!!
