I have finished the cow bone koru pendant. The Koru depicts new beginnings, growth and harmony, taken from the symbolism of an unfurled silver fern leaf. The Maori symbols of the single figure eight represents the joining together of two people. The figure eight along with the double koru is a perfect symbol to represent the new life of adventure and travelling that my husband and I have decided to adopt in the upcoming years.

  • great carving! I dislike working bone because of the smell(plus I am a vegetarian) but the material looks great once polished, thanks for uploading

  • Thanks Michael! I know what you mean about the smell. I'm a bit phobic about dentists, and the stench you get from carved bone is similar to the docs office once they get the drill going. Burnt bone smells even worst!

  • I agree, though animal horn is the one that makes me feel the worst, its like the smell of burning hair, its actually the same stuff, hair, horn.....sometimes I am surprised when I found out that I am just an animal... I am working bone myself today, see tomorrows video......
