A (Steve Horn film) "Behind The Shallow Mind" is about a young woman, Terri (Sharmaine Nicholson), who has decided not to utilize her Social Worker's degree but instead assist her family in running an illegal street lottery. While doing her usual rounds of collecting numbers, as luck would have it, Terri clashes a group of shallow minds. In the midst of trying to escape from them she runs into Drake (Jason Wimberly), a media salesman. He assists Terri with her escape and then later he lends a hand with her errands of collecting numbers, which allows them to grow closer to one another. But when Drake's old friend Lovell (Iken b. Jackson) becomes jealous of his relationship with Terri, someone gets hurt which leads homicide investigators to knocking on doors.
