Here is the story:The gods want Desmond to mate with a descendent of eve because lucy is a templar because whenever you go eagle vision outside of the animus u see red foot prints and half time lucy isn't in there when you leave the animus obviosly only desmond and his ancestors can use the apple because they are decendents of adam and he needs too find the decendent of eve so they can mate and create a perfect human like the gods who created the apple.
