they sent her away so she wudnt be killed by maleficent
but i think the point of excluding the mmother is because they want to portray a princess who has to find herself...she doesnt have the guidance or safety that she would have if she had a mother...and thats where the adventure comes in hehe

It's the DISNEY FLAW, gives the character a bit of sympathy without making them look bad, plus you only have to one parent to be animated and added into the storyline.

very true, i agree, i just thought it was a bit unfair that the mother is always the one not there. and in the case of sleeping bueaty, she doesn't know she has parents, she's raised without them, she doesn't know she has parents, until the end, so for most of the movie, she's w/o paretns!
