Here are the steps needed to perform a compression test on your automobile or pretty much any motor. Good for diagnosing a bad head gasket, worn pistons, etc.. Please note you will see the compression fall on the tester in this video because the release valve is faulty on my tester. Please subscribe and thanks for watching!

  • @steven240sx Oil in coolant and coolant in the oil. At first I thought it was a headgasket. Very similiar results.

  • It seems there is too much pressure in the motor, maybe it is the head gasket?

  • @steven240sx Could be a head gasket but funny you should mention the lower intake gasket... I did the same thing on this car with similar results. I too had to do it twice! The Felpro did the trick the second time around.

  • Hi@Johnnysshop did you disconnected the fuel pump fuse?and the problem is that after i terminated the test the car have a strange noise and i did go off and on with starter please answer me soon thanks

  • @Turbodieselracer I didn't but you should disconnect otherwise you could flood the car, erc.. Not sure what you're asking...

  • torque specs are same for all gaskets.

  • The torque specs must be different with the thinner fel-pro.

  • I replaced my lower intake gasket on my 02 grand prix 3.1. I was getting oil in my coolant. The gasket was cracked on one of the coolant ports. I replaced it, put it back together and was great. After a week or so bypass hoses started blowing and the rad cap started leaking. I replaced the cap and hoses. The intake seems to have a slow leak now. I think I need to replace the gasket again with a fel-pro metal kind not plastic. Do you think I should do a compression test? It seems that there is t
