Ya i have brought up the hold sensitivity thing a few times and i pretty much allways get the same responce which is the same one you gave. I cant get the jsb 18.1 to group as good as the crosman premier hollow points and I know its just because my gun is super sensitive to the hold with the 18.1's even tho I know in terms of accuracy the jsb's probably are more accurate. Anyways ive taken a few rabbits with the polymags and compared to domed pellets they have a massive exit and more knock down.

I have watched your videos up to and including this one. I've never understood the concept behind gel. This being a simulation of flesh doesn't account for fur, feather, skin, BONE, and any connective tissue along the way. I prefer a head shot for instant termination. I wonder if a bone medium in front of the gel could be simulated. It's quite remarkable what these little lead pellets can do. However, I'm quite impressed with your test results and it does narrow my choices. Thankyou.

very very useful. congratulations
This is an extremely useful video!!! I really like the polymags too they are badass.. I have this same gun, What pellets do you find to be the most accurate and least hold sensitive..?

@shanebenoist Thanks bro :) I don't really see much difference in terms of hold-sensitivity between pellets, but the ones I've had the best accuracy with are the JSB Exact Jumbo, they're amazing. I can get a 4" group at 100yd rifle range near my house. I actually got surprising accuracy out the of Crosman Premier (dome) pellets also, I used them to cut small branches off trees in my back yard in my accuracy vid :D

You pretty much lost ALL credibility when you said you disagreed that JSB Exact wouldn't make good hunting pellets. Anyway, don't let me slow down your gelatin testing and drawing false conclusions.

@jzorns Haha yeah maybe I would have if I said the Predator Polymag was a bad hunting pellet. But looking at just the energy transfer into the target, you can tell that the pellet was developed to have as little drag and resistance as possible, therefore making for a bad hunting pellet because it just does a through-and-through. Granted, this means that it retains its energy over very long range, and would out-do almost any other pellet as a hunter in this situation, but this was a muzzle test.

A couple of comments. Ballistics gel is not 1:1 penetration compared to in flesh, especially if a bone is hit along the way. There is an approximate proportion; I don't recall what it is. Also, domed pellets are great for hunting because of their retained energy at range compared to other types. It doesn't matter HOW good a pellet's wound channel is in gel at point blank, if it hasn't got enough energy left at 40 yards. At that point, retained energy is king, and domed is the only viable option.

@jzorns Haha thanks for the info about ballistics gel and the fact that bones will affect the pellet's path, I had no idea about either of those things. Not to mention this isn't actual ballistics gel, it's just extremely thick Knox gelatin made to simulate flesh. This video is for showing wound channels of different pellets, not comparing pellets' effectiveness at long-range, otherwise I would have shot the block from far away. But thanks for sounding like a pompous jackass :)
