Update:
Problem was SOLVED by changing to a resistor-type sparkplug.
Please do not post anymore comments about ferrite rings etc.

ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS:

Glitching is only present when engine is running.
The ail, elev, collective, throttle servos all twitch randomly, they generally do not twitch simultaneously.
It seems to be most severe when engine has just been started, then things improve to maybe 1 twitch per 10 seconds or so. It's very random.

I've installed a grounded braiding around the sparkplug and sparkplug cable.

And also ferrite rings on all servo wires and power supply to receiver.
Both have not proven to be effective.
The braid starts from where the plug wire comes out of the plastic casing, and covers the plug boot totally.
Perhaps the interference is coming from the inside the plastic casing (magneto?).

Servos: Inolab HG-D650HB
Heli: Hirobo SST Eagle2 GS
Gasoline engine: stock Tanaka TAS 24cc

  • Just wrap the servo lead 2-3 turns in a ferrite ring !

  • I did install ferrite rings on all servo leads, and everywhere else. The glitches continued.

As stated in the description, the main mistake I made which caused this was that I used a non-resistor sparkplug.

Non-R plugs probably cause so much interference that no amount of ferrite rings would suppress the glitching.

  • Did you manage to get the glitch problem sorted?

  • Yes, solved by changing to an R-type sparkplug.

    See the first comment.

    No more glitches.

  • Solved.

Glitching was due to my use of non-resistor type spark plug (Champion CJ8).

    No glitches with NGK BPMR4A.

  • Please provide details on this gasser conversion. Who supplies this ? What clutch ? What gears please ?

  • move the horn and put sub in it.

  • i have the same problem with an electric bird of mine...how to solve this?

  • Hi

I had the same sort of problem but that was much worse than this. The solution was simple : putting servo wires through coils. No glitch at all then !
