The Great Prohibition Follies

Ann Gibson teams up with piano master Frederick Hodges to perform this Irving Berlin tune entitled, "You Cannot Make Your Shimmy Shake On Tea" (1919). From the Ziegfeld Follies of 1919. Words by Rennold Wolf and Irving Berlin. Music by Irving Berlin.

The Annual West Coast Ragtime Festival occurs in November on the weekend prior to Thanksgiving at Sacramento California. I hope you can be there for next years festival!

  • Thank you for this song. I heard it many years ago on a recording from Knott's Berry Farm one of their player pianos. I still have the 45 recording but this is only the second time I ever heard the words.
