To those 6 cylinder Trailblazer owners who are sick of looking at that obnoxious looking resonator hanging from their bumper, here's one solution: Trash the stock muffler, install a Magnaflow SUV muffler, then remove the resonator, and install a nice chrome tip while your at it. You get a nice exhaust tone reminiciant of an older Jag. A muffler shop should do the job for less than $300

  • All we did was cut-off the resonator & weld-on a chrome tailpipe, with, as the video shows, a slight "S" shape to keep the tailpipe off the ground.

  • Sorry, I don't recall the part number, it's just Magnaflow's "SUV" muffler.

  • Those are Michelin P245-65's on 17" wheels by MB Motoring (Discount Tire Co. house brand) They ride smooth, look nice and the tires really last.

  • Most any muffler shop will have the parts to do this swap

Keep watching YouTube for differant results and pick your favorite.

It's been 3 years since doing this muffler swap and I'm still very happy with the looks an the sound, the lower restriction just seems to work (as does the 3.73 rear end swap I did at the same time) as it just doesn't seem to work very hard to do it's job. My TB now has over 134,000 miles.

  • What about in-cab drone from the MF SUV muff....is it very noticeable on the Trailblazer? I've been thinking of this muff on my '03. Thanks for the vid/sound clip.

  • I get a little drone in the cabin, but we got used to it pretty quick, there's only a narrow range in the RPM where it shows up.
