the only difference between the pal version and ntsc version other than the title and the game going 5 frames faster is the ntsc version ommited meio saying to the pitts of hell with you strider when you get a gameover other than those two things both versions are the same

Thanks that's an interesting fact. I wonder if that has to do with religious imagery being a big no-no in the early nineties as far as games went.

maybe but the odd thing is that the gamegear version of the game actualy says to the pits of hell with you strider when you get a gameover so how would sega and U.S gold explain why the genesis version had that saying removed but it's fully retained in the gamegear version

I also heard the reason why a lot of people couldn't stand this game was because it had terrible jumping controls. Yeah that babe in the shredded clothing could keep anybody to keep coming back. I agree with you the opening music is ok but the original strider had such an awesome soundtrack that reminded me of a bizarre 70s or 80s sci-fi or fantasy film.

I really do appreciate seeing your balanced critique of this game, which I agree is underrated and receives far too much hate from Strider fanboys. I picked it up last week and beat it in a couple of days. Like you said, the biggest problem was its lack of imagination (unlike the original) and frustrating difficulty (not as bad as the original, IMO), but I enjoy a good challenge. Well done review!

Now because my eye sight is amazing and nobody I think has posted the answer to the damage from the princess case. (i know that footage was cut from this version just watch the uncut version and you'll see what I mean.
