I think the idea was make the point that Canadian film is underfunded, but that never really comes across until the credits & even then, it's pretty lame. It does still portray Canadians as being useless, 'backwoods' dolts and that the only reason foreign (us) productions come here is that they get tax breaks - not because Canadian talent and production services are top notch. Bad message (why is ACTRA rewarding this?).
