Ophiure souvent observées en grand nombre, plus petites que l'ophiure pâquerette (Ophiopholis aculeata). Observée à Baie-Comeau (Québec, Canada).
Température de l'eau =/- 5°C, Profondeur, 20 mètre, substrat, Fond de roche, sédiments, coquille de moules bleues.
