I only wish more Conservatives were like Davis here. I'm a Liberal (albeit a more open-minded one. I'm willing to admit and accept that there have been bad Liberals and the party has quite a few flaws right now that need changing), but I wouldn't have minded one bit if Davis was our current Prime Minister. If a politician has proven that he is good at governing and good at getting things done for the country, I'll vote for him, regardless of what party he's in.

I do as well. I'm a Liberal, and I think that Bill Davis did a great job. He was a Conservative back when they were something I used to respect. Nowadays, sadly, the party's become a bunch of radical fanatics, rather than the business oriented, yet still open-minded people they used to be. Davis still kept the people of his province in mind, and did good work. Kudos to you, Mr. Davis. If only more Conservatives were like you.

  • @gnizleov One of the Greatest leaders in Canadian Politics, very smart. If Only the Premier of Ontario today had half of his skill.

  • One of Ontarios finest Premiers even those on the left agree.

  • Thanks for posting; interesting interview !

I was born the year Bill was elected and growing up in Ontario, he seemed to always be around. While the country was going gaga over Trudeaumania, Mr. Davis provided rock- solid leadership with a steady hand on the wheel. I became interested in politics, and I had the opportunity to see him speak a number of times. After that interview, I'm sure he sped off to his beloved Georgian Bay.
