  • I read an excerpt from Bill's book where he said the rescue workers pulled him out of the car "like a weed" as opposed to taking care not to injure him further.

Why are a few crewman on the backstretch?

  • spotters

  • Well I thought of that, but then I figured that they should be on the grandstands so that they could see better.

  • they didnt think things through back then lol

  • Isn't this the same race that Craven hit the fence?

  • yea

  • I wonder if it would've been better or worse if he'd tumbled as opposed to landing like he did.

  • @negtype13 No, Bobby Allison's flight through the fencing in 1987 - coming after six years of such near-disasters - was the reason for restrictor plates. I do not understand why people want to perpetuate the myth that Elliott is why NASCAR went to restrictor plates.

  • rusty leading at talladega? wow

  • Elliott nearly did the same flip that Kenny Schrader did the year before.

  • O.o

  • AWESOME BILL FROM DAWSONVILLE

  • WTF worse statement ever...

  • i saw it, it was very good!

  • If you think of it though, out of Rudd, and the Bodine Brothers, only Geoff did better, but in the end, at least Elliott wasnt in as dire straits as either Bodine or Rudd was.

With some help, I think Ellott could of done quite well with his own team.

  • he hurt his leg, seatbelts wouldnt protect from that
