In the late 60s, Dick Orkin conceived and wrote the Chickenman radio series. He was Public Affairs/Production Director at WCFL, the "Voice of Labor" radio station in Chicago. Dick Orkin, award-winning voice actor and commercial radio producer, gained fame in the 70s with his radio spots which NEWSWEEK dubbed The Advertising Theater of the Absurd.

The Chickenman series spoofed comic book heroes, and was loosely based on the original Batman series. The famous catch phrase for the show was, Hes everywhere! Hes everywhere! Its huge success was garnered around an entertaining and funny storyline that featured Chickenman fighting crime in his yellow, crime-fighting car, the Chicken Coup, with help from the Commissioner, his secretary and his mother, the Maternal Marauder.

  • We used to get Chicken Man on AFVN Radio in Vietnam. We'd literally put the war on PAUSE to listen to an episode.
