The old woman was Lois Wright. Lois has a local tv show in East Hampton called the Lois Wright Show. She wrote a book about when she lived with the Beales for a short while called My Life at Grey Gardens. My hubby and his brother were the plumbers that Big Edie called when she needed anything.

I LIKED IT BETTER WHEN IT WAS DARK, DIRTY, ROTTEN AND FULL OF TWO WOMEN WITH GREAT CHARACTER; NOT SOME MANHATTAN YUPPIE-NEW MONEY BITCH AND HER POCKET GAY QUEEN IN PINSTRIPES FAGHANDLING THE CHINA

@harrylove1001 They liked it better like an episode of Hoarders!

"Until mankind embraces compassion for all living things, he shall never know peace." As one wise sage stated.

@FriedrichKling Well, I'm going to go out on a very long limb and guess that the cats were picked up by the pound. The raccoons were probably exterminated, as most people don't consider them pets.

He is a bit over the top, why doesn't he make an offer on the property !
-
@FriedrichKling It was over 30 years ago, I'm sure it is safe to assume that the pets have all died.

@tfutrel000 Your response to my comment is so dumb it defies imagination.

@tfutrell000 In the normal world 2 + 2 = 4. I asked about the condition of their beloved pets and said nothing about the habitability of the home, numnuts.
Why is there a pool? Is there really a pool before the new owner?

@cute07nm Sally Quinn put in the pool. The Beales didn't have a pool or tennis courts.
