@allankay12 - Yes. It is. 4.5 BI's is a monster. Not saying it is life changing money for anyone but let's say everyone in the game is weak-loose AND buys in full. If everyone playing standard opening hands and continued post flop more or less by equilibrium (Top pair+ for raising hands, 2 pair+/draws for calling hands, etc), a 450BB pot is still a monster. Someone with a full $200 stack would have to QUADRUPLE up (max value 4 way) and the pot would still not be $900.
I almost never tip more that $1, and that's only if I had won a big pot. It's hard enough to beat the $10 rake where the dealers are already unionized and paid $25+/hour + full benefits.
I tip $1 also on pots I win unless the pots are big. If I'm playing a $1-2 game and win $100-200 pot I'll throw the dealer $2-4 depending on how I feel at that specific time. The other night at the Horseshoe I was able to win a monster at the $1-2 game. I had about $360 in front and actually almost tripled up when my 99 flopped a set to crack AA and KK. The pot was a little over $900. I threw the dealer $7. But for the most part I agree with you on the $1 a pot tip.

Anyone else think a $900+ pot at $1-2 is a monster?
