I love love japanese fashion and style but I don't get this type. Can anyone explain to me what its all about? Why do they want to be orange?

The manba girls weren't going for the beach look as much as the ganguros, they just kind of took this look one step further haha

I seen a TV show that was brodcasted in the UK called "japanorama" and when describing the ganguro girls (not manba i know, but the ones before) they were said to be going for the cali look. I am just saying what I've heard.
