Some freight trains in the Belgian-German border region:
Reinartzkehl (Aachen), Montzen-Gare, Remersdaal and Visé. Plus a short visit at Raeren looking after the remains of the Vennbahn.

  • great video love the yellow engines ...how long since you had cabooses?we lost ours in the late 1980's on most class 1 rr's. i was a clerk for norfolk southern in USA. what governs the movement of your trains? train orders? trains signals? both?

  • hello, Thanks!

I think the last cabooses (sort of) were in the 1950s, but not very common in Eurpoe.

train movements are normally controlled electronically from interlocking towers, if that´s what you mean.

  • bei 5:25 , das ist doch eine British Steel Class 66, oder?

  • nicht British steel, die ist von GM EMD (General Motors Electro-Motive Division), gebaut in London/Ontario, Kanada

  • Great video! Nice to see class 55 is still used on this line. I was thinking of going to Gemmenich/Reinartzkehl too this Saturday but finally I didn't because I was afraid of only seeing class 28.

  • thanks! These two locos were the only 55s I saw. But the 28´s are indeed getting boring very fast if it´s the only stuff you see there ...

see all

  • yes, that is what i mean, we used to have first class trains, second class, extras, and work trains, now they run on track warrants, in other words a train has right to hold main track between point a and point b.

  • this is RIGHT !!!!

  • Diesel Power rocks!!

     Electric is too boring.

  • If you realy like Belgian trains, you should visit dendermonde. Great variaty of freight trains and commuter trains, from national and international entreprises like NMBS, SNCF, Crossrail and ECR. It's not a spot paradise but certainly very interesting. Keep up the good videos, grtz Vito

  • Du bist und bleibt der Beste Zugfilmer, der deutsch schreibt! (Und spricht, denke ich mal...)
