great video, makes me want to make one of myself making messenger bags. I can't begin to count the hours I've sat at a juki at the old shop... but I just got my own Mitsubishi double needle walking foot... SO stoked.

What is that soundtrack/artist/dj?

I am sure those kids took a great Home Ec class in high school! Seee...making those pillows, and learning how to do pattern construction and layout, throw in a little bit of tailoring and textiles and voile.....GREAT MESSENGER BAGS! No need to thank me kids...I knew you could do it!

If you hand stitched, your bag would be double+ the cost and be on a multi year long waitlist

This makes me happy. I'm in Hirakata city in Osaka prefecture right now. It's a smallish place. But there are two people here with RELoad bags, me and this dude from Maryland whose brother got him a bag as a gift. He knows not what treasure he slings callously over his shoulder.
This Halloween, there'll be a critical mass in Kyoto. I'll count the bags I see, if you don't already have some operative out in those parts. Haha. :D

This whole time I thought hand made meant hand stitched. I am for sure a little bummed :(

i always wondered if some people out there would think "hand stitched" meant we sat there with a needle and thread in our hands. believe me, with the layers and thickness of the materials involved, this would be nearly impossible. fwiw most bag companies have automatic box-stitch machines, electronically-controlled mechanisms that backtack to a specified number of stitches, and connections on the presser feet that cut and rethread the needle after every operation. we dont have those..... :)
