@dragonridley I live in NC and most times the warning is late in the evening into the night. I can remember the one warning in 2005 at night. The wind was up high and me and my 5 year old stood in the door and we rebuked the storm like Jesus did in the Bible, thanked God for HIS protection and went to bed in peace. People were talking about the damage done in their neighborhoods but nothing happened in ours, plus we still had power. You know just the thought of a tornado happening is scary...

I found another stat on N.C. tornadoes. I found out that N.C. has the highest percentage when it comes to night time tornadoes. Not the highest number but highest percentage for anyone else reading this reply and comment to dragonridley.

The reason they seem to be F3 and up is that weaker tornadoes don't make big news as much.

it what makes them so scary, there around but you never know where its going to hit.

It was the F5.
There ere 6 F4's that day.

was the F5 tornado in PA the one that was videoed? If I remember right the person filming it or somebody next to that person was saying "look at the paper, look at all the paper flying around." But what that person thought was paper was actually debris from apartments or houses being torn up. It's been a while since I've seen that video. But I can't remember if that was the F5 or the F4. I've seen so many vids now I can't even count them any more. I waitn 4 the 2010 chase season. I luv chasing.

Western PA is no stranger to tornadoes either. Everyone in my county talks about an F4 that killed 12 during an outbreak in 1985. Strangely there's much less mention of the F5 that happened just 2 counties away.
