That is pretty sad. Clay has an amazing voice, they should let him use it the way he wants to. It may just shock some folks, lol.

Nice song; it has a country feel, tho, & I think Clay would probably do a more pop arrangement. What happened is that Clay is a great admirer of Steven's & called him with an idea for a song. Clay's little brother is a Marine & has so far served 2 tours of duty in Iraq. His brother made a comment about "what I'm fighting for" & Clay appproached Steven with the song idea. Clay's label, unfortunately, has not been at all supportive in letting him record the type of music that moves him. Sad.

I'm still hoping but I feel bad for Clay Aiken if he isn't able to record this song. You don't receive a song from the caliber of man like Steven Curtis Chapman very often. Talent.. faith.. and compassion. He is a legend in his own time in the Christian world. Clay so deserves that... whether secular or not... and much more. I'm glad that he still has Steven's friendship though.

Yes, it was Clay Aiken. Maybe he'll get to put it on his next album if Steven would like that, too.

Very pretty song. Sad that he wrote it for Clay on Clay's suggestion and that jerk/devil Clive wouldn't let him record it. Guess it's better than to lose it all together but how sad that the person it was meant for couldn't record it.

I read somewhere that Steven actually wrote this song for someone else. It is such a beautiful song....I do hope that it gets recorded and many are able to hear it. It would be such a shame if it weren't.

This piece reminds me of the war in iraq. People we are there to help and not to hurt iraq. it is recorded.. check out the additional songs on the Cinderella edition of SCC's This Moment CD. Just release in May. Song is called "What I'm Fighting For"... just beautiful. :-) Hope this helps!
