Killing Floor - WTF?

Just a small tidbit on Killing Floor.. when I was running through caverns to keep away from some zombies...
One of them just.. fell over.... DEAD.. and you can even see from the way my camera is moving.. I was confused and wondering what went wrong with the poor guy.. :c

no real mystery here, you shot him before and missed his head, he was either low enough on health or this is a low difficulty for the shot to have caused critical damage.
