I understand fighting based on principle. I do.

However, have you never heard the term "pick your battles" ?

You really think Ron Paul would put himself through 11 terms of fighting lobbying, subsidies, and endless opportunity of corruption only to finally become a household name and ignite a huge libertarian movement and THEN give up and sell out at nearly 75 years old?

I like Bush -but let's just lump in someone who is wrong .05% of the time with all the other criminals. I like being part of the self-righteous minority -never compromise, never work in coalitions with anyone who disagrees with us on ANY issue. @cowdawgboss An important thing to remember also is that a lot of the other congressmen in both sides of the aisle are more than likely to have been in deals with big business/corporations and generally made passing bills impossible for Ron.

the biggest most important thing not 1 person here has said is , you have to sleep with enemy to keep them close and the only reason he is an R is he gets to a chance to keep the republican party in check , 1 of te things is ee also is and i get asked about it alot , how many bills has got passed ? i have to ask myself this and came to the conclusion that he has spent his whole career fighting against the big gov and trying to keep america from becoming a socialist country via the constitution

@dangercartxx ... and part of building a solid case is understanding these relationships, these bargaining chips. The game is just as much about the deals made off the record as the voting record. Paul's voting record is only part of the job and part of the big picture. Good, you trust Paul and that's fine. However, I will never "trust" another politician again. I want to know what and how much is compromised for Ron Paul to get ahead and how much Ron Paul won't compromise for the greater good.

I'm here to ask hard questions. I can only speak for myself and I'm not satisfied with "trust". I "trusted" Obama. Never again. I hear you, he has a long, consistent record, blah blah blah. I'm going over it in detail and building a solid case, not just taking people's word. This goes for ALL candidates.

The man has a record 22 years long and has never once voted for anything I disagree with- am I really going to throw away my support for him just because of an agreement he made that I don't fully understand? Like I said previously, clearly it was a bargaining chip where he was promised something in return that, by his estimation, brought our cause out on top in the trade.

@dangercartxx Hm. I guess that makes sense. But, I'm still not a fan of the secret dealings. I'd like to know all the conditions. I realize that Ron Paul has to "play the game", I guess, but its this kind of stuff that makes you question your support for a candidate. Obama screwed us all and ever since then I vowed not to drink the kool aid of any candidate every again. I'm just trying to make sure Ron Paul is really going to hold up his end of the bargain i.e. no trickery.
