My grey is between 15 and 17, and he is a rescue. after much trial and error, i've gotten him to sit on his back and let me hold him in my hands like yours.

you taught him not to poo all over?

@I8DEAN8I Most parrots will stop doing this on thier own once they learn to control thier pooper, and are not nervous around you. Many will train themselves to only poop on thier cage and play stands.

hello. i have a African grey to. his name is poncho :-)
anyway he's been pulling his feathers out and he looks really bad. you could see his skin and everything can you tell me what too do please?

It could be a number of things. Nutirition, not enough toys, not enough room in his cage, not enough socialization, needs a mate, parasites, disease. Best to take him to an avian vet and see whats going on.

how do you teach them to do that?????

I started working with him as a baby. You can work with them by gently rocking them side to side on the floor during play time till they are comfortable with it, and slowly getting them closer to being on thier back each day. Eventually you can do just about anything with them once they are in full trust of you.
