In this video I complete my survey of Dave Jeffery's levels with the second (and last) level of his London set. I omitted this level from my previous video of the set because it cannot be completed, due to the data file being corrupted so that the second transporter's destination is forgotten. (This is the case, rather than both transporters being mistakenly set to the same destination, because if you change the destination of either one in the editor, it alters the destination of both.) Then I realised that even without this bug, the level would be uncompletable anyway, as there is no crown. (See my discussion of this in my commentary on my Rovers video.) So, here's as much of the level as can be completed; by doing the enclosed area last I am still able to collect all the diamonds.

Incidentally, the password to this level, Syncron, is the name of another BBC Micro game, and the walls in this middle area of the level spell out "Partis", the name of Syncron's designer. And no, before anyone asks, I will not be videoing Syncron. There are "taster" videos of it already out there that get a lot further into it than I would be able to.

The music to this video is "Oxford Street" by Eric Coates; thanks to Dave Jeffery for drawing Coates's work to my attention, in a comment he posted in reply to my previous London video.

  • I missed this upload - I seem to sometimes miss your videos in the YouTube update e-mails that I get sent. Many thanks for doing this level, I really enjoyed watching it - oddly, I barely remember designing this one so it was almost like watching a playthrough of someone else's level! Incidentally, Coates' Saxo-Rhapsody is his best work in my opinion.
