Webcam video with Burt Harding.

Your thoughts, emotions, your body and world are not what is real. What is real is at the back of them, their source or cause which is YOU!! YOU last beyond time. You are Oneness and not a separate individual!

  • Burt that is a hard one to fathom that we enjoy the pain. Once had sciatica so bad my leg was numb and burning down to bottom of my foot. Could not sleep but fitfully. Moved by dragging my leg just about the whole time using a crutch. After about 6 weeks it resolved over 4 or 5 days. Strange after this serious pain subsided I missed it for a few days is that weird? I like to think Im not a masochist. Was I missing the pain or something else? I do not know.

  • Dear jobedied, You are honest! It often happens that we suffer from unconscious guilt known as "we don't feel good enough." Thus when we suffer we feel as if we deserve it and somehow take unconscious pleasure in self-pity. This is the craziness of the ego.

  • Burt, you said 'somehow' take unconscious pleasure in self-pity

Is this really because pain really gets the ego's attention and provides the ego with "drama"so then it has something to "fight" and "blame" for something... All helping it futher justify the need for its own existance?

Althought this is absurb in itself there is still some logic to it or am I missing this completely?

  • Dear 1madaboutguitar, You are right on the button my friend. You are quite aware. The ego's need to justify its existence will use blame, self-pity and resistance and thus enjoy a form of insane pleasure in pain.

  • Burt is indeed the best thing that ever is.

  • Thanks Burt, I have studied it for a while but I never have picked up so many valuable insights about it as from your videos.

In fact I think i found your videos for the first time through a 'youtube' search on 'ego'. Its funny how one little search led to me discovering a treasure chest of wisdom and spiritual guidance.

They have made a BIG difference in my life. Thank you :0)

  • @odieshaPI you cant get rid of it.. the ego serves a pupose.. yes it is a burden for us, but only because we are not in Christ-Conciousness. when we are, the small ego merges with the cosmic ego.. and in that way it serves a purpose on earth.

  • What is the ego? I want to get rid of mines.

  • @burtharding Hi burt, Thank you very much for your satsangs, they are very inspirational. From my understanding then is that perhaps that feeling pleasure in pain is ego's tool for self pity only when we hold on to the pain meaning that we recreate it to bring about something that is familiar and that our self concept depends on, and not particularly the feel of pleasure in pain? Perhaps it is trying to proof to itself its strength by recreating that pain?
