This is a song that our old youth group sang for a Christmas musical (called Christmas At Hope Central) maybe as long as 10 years ago. It was originally written with one verse and a chorus talking about a person coming to Christ and accepting Him for the first time. As my sister and I were singing it recently, we both felt that it would be really nice if it had another verse, so we wrote one. The 2nd verse of the song is about a Christian who feels lost and has drifted away from God, longing to find that spark and passion again.

I can't speak for Jackie (who had as much of a hand in writing the lyrics to the 2nd verse as I did), but I know very well what it's like to hit a spiritual dry spot and as a result, to feel completely lost. Unfortunately, it's anything but a new experience for me. Sometimes I don't fully realize that I've drifted until I've gone so far that I don't even know how to rekindle the fire and rebuild my relationship with God. Thankfully though, God is good! Everytime I drift, He finds a way to pull me back in. He gives me signs and tugs at certain strings in my heart, and even though it takes a while sometimes, He eventually gets through to me and helps me to realize that I really do need Hin in my life.

For those of you who are going through a spiritual dry spot right now, I pray that God would speak to you and help you to find your way back to Him.
