but on the case it shows that u can do up to 4 players coop even if ur not online.. and a couple of friends told me they were able to do 4 player co-op without playing online

Also, you're making yourself look like even more of an ass by comparing two completely different gameplay styles. Halo has you fight for power weapons, CoD4 gives you a lineup of weapons.

You just answered why you thought it was better by saying "its better, it looks better"
Guess what, ODST has a multiplayer as well. The original Halo 3 MP, which is still played more than CoD4&WAW, as well as FireFight.
Halo outsells CoD4, and using sales is a terrible show of which is better. by your logic, Wii is the best game system ever.
Wider variety of weapons? Too bad they are completely unbalanced.
Graphics > Gameplay.
