כמיליון וחצי יהודים לחמו בצבאות הסדירים של בעלות הברית במלחמת העולם השנייה. במקרים רבים היה שיעור היהודים הלוחמים בצבאות רב מחלקם באוכלוסייה.
כ-500,000 חיילים יהודים לחמו במסגרת הצבא האדום. כ-120,000 מהם נהרגו בקרב וכ-80,000 שבויי מלחמה יהודים נרצחו בידי הגרמנים. יותר מ-160,000 לוחמים יהודים בכל דרגי הפיקוד זכו באותות הצטיינות ולמעלה מ-150 איש זכו באות ההצטיינות "גיבור ברית-המועצות" אות הכבוד הגבוה ביותר שניתן בצבא האדום.
כ-550,000 חיילים יהודים לחמו במסגרת הצבא האמריקני. הם שירתו בכל החזיתות, באירופה ובאוקיינוס השקט. כ-10,000 מהם נפלו בקרבות ויותר מ-36,000 לוחמים זכו בעיטורי הצטיינות. חיילים יהודים השתתפו בשחרור המחנות.
עם פלישת הגרמנים לפולין לחמו כ-100,000 יהודים בשורות צבא פולין - עשרה אחוזים מכלל הלוחמים בצבא - כשיעור היהודים בכלל אוכלוסיית פולין. במהלך קרבות ההגנה על פולין נפלו, נלקחו בשבי הגרמני או הוכרזו נעדרים כ-30,000 יהודים (כ-11,000 מהם נפלו בעת ההגנה על ורשה). אלפי יהודים שירתו גם במסגרת כוחות פולניים שונים שלחמו נגד הנאצים בצבאות בעלות הברית.
יחידות מיוחדות של יהודים מארץ-ישראל התארגנו במסגרת הצבא הבריטי, דוגמת הבריגדה היהודית. בשנים 1946-1939 שירתו כ-30,000 יהודים ארץ-ישראלים בצבא הבריטי.

More than 500,000 Jewish soldiers were enlisted in the Red Army of the Soviet Union, 120,000 of which fell in battles and 80,000 POW among them were executed by the Nazis. More than 160,000 Jewish soldiers within all ranks earned medals, and more than 150 won the highest medal of honour in the Red Army - "Hero of the Soviet Union".
Nearly 550,000 Jewish soldiers enlisted in the US military. They served across all fronts in Europe and the Pacific. 10,000 of Jewish American soldiers fell in battles and 36,000 warriors won medals.
On the day of German incursion into Poland more than 100,000 jews were fighting in the lines of the Polish forces (10% of the Polish Army). During the defending fights for Poland the number of Jewish troops who fell in battle, fell into German captivity and declared missing was 30,000. Thousands of jews kept fighting within various Polish units within Allied forces till the end of the war.
Special corps of Jews from the Mandate of Palestina were enrolled into the British Royal forces, such as the Jewish Brigade. During 1939-1946 more than 30,000 Jews from the land of Israel were serving in the British military.

1:34 "The battle for Poland was short" - about as short as France, BEF, Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg fought. In a one, noth-eastern region, having comparable strenght and better equipement than Poland had (most of all, much more of it).

Poland was outnumbered, suprised (not mobilised yet), encircled by Germany , Slovakia and the soviets, only a short border with Hungary and Romania provided escape for the gov, so it didn`t surrendered... in opposite to France.
