Marshall Rosenberg created Nonviolent Communication and is Founder and Director of Educational Services for the Center for Nonviolent Communication, an international non-profit organization based in California.

Dr Rosenberg talks about Teilhard de Chardin's theories of human evolution which sought to return to a more natural way - one where no-one advances at the expense of another. He speaks of his own experiences working with Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and how enriching the lives of others is the most rewarding work mankind can engage in.

Marshall Rosenberg is so very cool.

  • I love his work. I´m studying this since nearly a year and it changed my live to be more free, responsible and generous in giving good live feelings. It´s just the way to paradise again because this teaches the love what we need to reconnect with the ones who could be important for us in any way.

  • There is a german psychotherapeut called Eugen Drewermann and a christian philosoph called Erich Fromm, both have made the same experience like Theilhard de Chardin,it is possible to change the old matrix of bad influence into something new,if you can replace the old structures of a wrong view on a problem exists a chance to bring them back to a round table.Empathie is a very powerful tool, but we must have this experience to believe it.All religions seemed to forget:Love your next LIKE YOURSELF.

  • Fantastic video!

  • @chubbypekingnese I didn't say that, but thanks anyway--it was another poster who said that. In any case, you clearly find my not agreeing with you irritating, so let's just leave it. Good luck!

  • @tvswnet You can only answer the question with a question because you don't have an answer to how we are primitive or what you compare us to to make such a statement.

Im sure you are aware that primitive is a term and you cannot find any example of how we are primitive.

It was you who said "It makes you realize how primitive our social system is." and you cant even back that statement up with an example of how it is primitive and compared to what.

  • @chubbypekingnese Well, I guess I'm going to do that annoying thing and answer a question with a question: How are we NOT primitive?

  • @tvswnet How are we primitive? In comparison to what? What plateau would we have to pass before we are not considered primitive?

  • @chubbypekingnese No, I don't agree...and I can see that annoys you...but I don't agree. The beauty is, we don't have to agree :-) You do not know me or my background or experience or anything else--just a tiny impersonal snapshot here on a YouTube thread. You've mistaken (IMO) a few sentences as being representative of a person's total experience leading to that opinion/word choice. And we ARE very primitive in many ways--seeing that allows us to change it--why is that so awful to admit?

  • @tvswnet How big of you to not 'attack someone because they say something to" you.

Since you have a MA in linguistics you should agree that there is nothing "primitive" about our social system or our way of comminicating with each other. Im pretty sure there were some anthropology classes in there somewhere and in those classes you've learned that we've managed to advance enough to not be considered primitive.

  • @chubbypekingnese No, I won't attack anyone because they say something to me...I would've in the past, but definitely not now. "Words mean something" resonates with me if you're speaking a little more figuratively. Btw, I have an MA in Linguistics and was working on my PhD. It was when this unresolvable disconnect between linguistic expression and unspoken intent became so evident that I switched directions a bit. How can you believe his use of a word was "incorrect" without direct access?

  • @tvswnet With that logic words dont mean anything and then cant carry any weight. But they do.

You will attack someone if they say something that offends you. Why? It is because you focus on what the definitions of the words mean.

I was focusing on the phrase "how primitive our social system is". I was refering to the use of the word PRIMITIVE.

I still think that PRIMITIVE wasnt the word the person was looking for. If so I believe it wa used incorrectly.

    Words mean something.
