Artistic Surfaces was founded in 1989 by Harvey Namm on the basis of 25 years of experience in flooring. As time progressed the company became well known contractors specializing in stores like Macys, Bloomingdales, Burdines and Saks 5th Avenue. Luxury Hotels, Art Galleries, Airport Terminals, Performing Arts Centers and Sporting Arenas were added as the years passed.

National awards have been earned for work at the Southwest Airlines Terminal, Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport. Additionally the company received awards for showcase projects like the Norton Museum, Disney Cruise Terminal, and Florida Atlantic University. Hard Rock Hotels in Hollywood and Tampa, and the Flagler Pavilion in Palm Beach.
Current projects include the new Miami International Airport South Terminal a 535,000 sq ft terrazzo project and the award-wining Miami Performing Arts Center and the Fontainebleau Resort in Miami.
Artistic Surfaces holds active memberships with The National Terrazzo and Mosaic Association (NTMA), Construction Association of South Florida (CASF), American Institute of Architects (AIA), Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC), Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) and Florida Association of Landscape Architects (FLASLA).
The main goal of the company has been to continue to develop, manufacture and market custom terrazzo concepts with a target audience of the leading architects and developers in Florida.
