Real Lao Coffee in Luang Prabang, Laos

I have another video on this channel that incorporates some of the same video, but this video adds some footage at the end where you can see us looking through a photo album that show a photo of the original owner of the coffee shop that I remember so fondly. I took a photo of him with his wife and grandchild about a year before he died and it was in the same drawer as all these photo albums. This little café is a favorite of falang and Thai tourists and when we are in Luang Prabang I still go on a "pilgrimage" to the "café" even though it's not the same with the owner's son and his wife now running the café. People have written comments that Lao coffee looks like tar, and I guess that's a little true, but the flavor with the condensed milk is one that grows on you, though I like mine watered down a bit. When we're in Laos, wherever I am, I am not happy unless I can start the day with 2-4 glasses of Lao coffee! In the guest house we stay at (Vayakorn) I bring a little thermos and in the morning I go down and they make me a cup and fill the thermos and then I'll go back upstairs to our room and work on photos, etc and look out the window over the streets below. I'm lovin it!
