Here is my experiment to see if Star San water has gone bad after the water had gone cloudy. This batch of Star San has only been used once, and has not been used multiple times.

  • Excellent Work Immolateus! .. I have the same problem.. within a few hours my StarSan is cloudy.. and I only mix 1 gallon batches...

How much do you re-use your StarSan? I am wondering now if we should be testing for PH to see if our mixture is done..

  • @dravenb4u I don't actually reuse my starsan..I'm pretty much done with it after 24 hours...I know it stays good for a long time but I don't want to store it either. I did the experiment to see if the cloudy-ness affected it for those folks that do re-use it.

  • Great video. This must have been a labor of love this experiment

  • @thegentlearts This video was just a curiosity...but by the time I got to the "6 Week Star San Experiment" I was committed to finding out the answer to this mystery.

  • Nice experiment! With the cheap price of test strips, I think that if people want to be sure , they should test their own water. I'm glad to see that your results were the same as mine.

  • @jaygnar Thanks for the comment. I saw your vid and wanted to do my own set of tests. The 6 week Star San test (my final set of tests) will be posted shortly.

  • You must have much softer water than I have here in Central Indiana. I know for a fact I have hard water and my Star San solutions *instantly* become cloudy and if I had swished around for 5-10 seconds like you did with a brush I get a huge amount of foam, unlike the tenuous cover of bubbles you have on your solution.

  • @yaap10 You should make a vid on your findings and post it as a video reply to this vid.

  • It doesnt go bad I keep it in a bucket for long time(6 months) never had any problems. Just make sure its sealed good

  • Good vid man! I wanna use Star San but i still have plenty of Potassium metabisulfite I need to get rid of but it's so much cheaper than Star San so I don't know if I can change my ways!
